8月9日はシンガポールの「ナショナルデー（建国記念日）」です。
August 9th is "National Day (National Foundation Day)" in Singapore.
シンガポール共和国がマレーシアから独立した日を祝う日ですね。
It is to celebrate the day that Singapore gained their independence from Malaysia.
ちなみに去年独立50周年を迎えています。

街では軍隊のパレードがあったり、大統領を乗せた車両が走ります。
In the city, there are military parades and the president rides the presidential car as well.
マリーナベイに作られた巨大な海上ステージで、警察機動隊によるバイクパフォーマンスがあったり、上空を軍用機が飛ぶシーンがあり、迫力満点です。
On the floating stage, there are motorcycle performances by the police and in the sky, there are scenes of military planes flying and it is filled with excitement.
パレードの模様はスタンドから見られるだけでなく、毎年テレビで生中継されています。
Not only can the parade be seen from the bleachers but it is also broadcasted live on TV.
毎年ナショナルデーは、国の色でもある「赤」を身にまとってお祝いするのが定番になっているようです。
Every National Day, it is customary to celebrate wearing something red which is the national color.
