What kind of day is St. Patrick's Day?

セントパトリックス・デーは3月17日、アイルランドにキリスト教を広めた聖人、聖パトリックの命日の事で、アイルランドでは祝日となっています。
St. Patrick's Day is a holiday in Ireland that is on March 17th in commemoration of the passing of St. Patrick who was a saint that spread Christianity throughout Ireland.
アイルランドでは何世紀も前からこの日を祝う伝統が受け継がれていて、現代ではダブリン（アイルランドの首都）で5日間、パレードなど盛大に祝うようです。
In Ireland, it has been celebrated from many centuries ago. In modern times, there are parades and celebrations over the course of 5 days in Dublin (the capital of Ireland).

シャムロックと呼ばれる、三つ葉のクローバーのような葉を服につけたり、ミサ（※）に行ったりします。
People wear 3-leaf clovers called shamrocks on their clothes and go to Mass.
アイルランドのナショナルカラーである、「緑」色の服を着て、パレードに参加し、ビールを浴びるほど飲みます。
The national color of Ireland is worn, people participate in parades and a lot of beer is drunk.
町中を緑に染めるのが恒例のようで、川までも緑色に染めてしまったりします。
It's traditional to make the whole town green, even the river is dyed green.
