Christmas Dinner In America:

アメリカでは伝統的にクリスマスディナーをクリスマスイブ（12月24日の夜）、もしくはクリスマス（12月25日）にいただきます。
Christmas Dinner is traditionally eaten on Christmas Eve in America (the night of December 24th) or else on Christmas Day itself (December 25th).
私の家ではいつも25日にいいただいています。
In my family, we always eat Christmas Dinner on the 25th.
24日はとてもワクワクすることばかり（明日はクリスマスプレゼントを開ける日だから！）なので、沢山のごちそうに集中できません。
There is so much excitement on Christmas Eve (opening presents tomorrow!) that it's hard to enjoy a large meal.
ですから、私の家ではクリスマスにいただきます。
So, we do it on Christmas Day.

私が幼い頃は ハニーベイクド・ハムがとても人気でした。とても大きな豚の足を砂糖とはちみつの中に浸し、それを焼いて作ります。"ハニークラスト"（はちみつが固まったハムの表面）は1センチの厚みがあり、噛むとザクザクととっても歯ごたえがあります！
Honey-Baked Ham was popular for Christmas Dinner when I was a child.  It's a giant pig leg rolled in sugar and honey, then baked. The honey crust is about one centimeter thick, and very crunchy!

There is a "proper" honey-baked ham store even in Japan!

サイドディッシュはほとんどサンクスギビング時と一緒で、マッシュドポテトとグレービーソース、ローストしたヤム芋、あとはオニオン。Side dishes are mostly the same as for Thanksgiving--mashed potatoes and gravy, roasted yams, and some onions.
グリューワイン（赤ワインをスパイスで温めたもの）はとても人気のあるクリスマスの飲み物です。
Mulled wine (red wine heated with spices) is a very popular drink.

ケーキはないけど、パイはあり！
No Cake, but Some Kind of Pie:

信じられないかもしれませんが、アメリカではクリスマスケーキは食べません。代わりに、クリスマスディナーの最後にパンプキンパイ、もしくはペカンパイ（ペカンナッツが入ったパイ）をいただきます。
Christmas cake is not eaten in America, believe it or not!  Instead, people eat pumpkin pie after Christmas Dinner, or possibly pecan pie.

I hope you get a chance to eat Christmas Dinner this year.  There are many wonderful Christmas Markets in Japan, where you can at least sample some mulled wine with your friends and family.
