「プレミアムフライデーを前に 企業の取り組みＰＲ」
「Companies Promotion and Effort Before Taking "Premium Friday"」

月末の金曜日に従業員に早めの退社を促し買い物や旅行を楽しんでもらう「プレミアムフライデー」が２４日から始まるのを前に、企業の取り組みをＰＲするイベントが東京都内で開かれました。
「プレミアムフライデー」は停滞する消費を盛り上げようと、経済界と政府が月末の金曜日に、午後３時をめどに従業員に早めの退社を促し、買い物や旅行を楽しんでもらう全国的なキャンペーンで、２４日から始まります。
Tokyo: There was an event to inform the public about how Japanese companies have been trying to accept and acquire the new "Premium Friday" system, which starts on February 24, 2017. Premium Friday is to let the employees be able to stop working around 3pm of the last Friday of the month and spend the time and the money wisely to make a better economical circumstance.

これを前に東京・千代田区で参加企業の取り組みなどをＰＲするイベントが開かれました。この中で、経団連の石塚邦雄副会長は「国民の皆さまが消費に前向きになって日本経済に活気を取り戻すことにつながるよう着実に推進したい」と述べました。
During this event at Chiyoda, Tokyo, Mr. Kunio Ishizuka, vice-chairman of the Federation of Economic Organizations said, "We would like to move this forward steadily and make it an ignition to recoup the Japanese economy through broader consumer opportunities."

また、世耕経済産業大臣は２４日にカーリングに挑戦することを明かしたうえで、「時間の使い方は型にはまらず自由に考えてもらいたい」と述べたほか、人気アイドルグループ「関ジャニ∞」のメンバー、村上信五さんは「時間が増えると、金土日で、コンサートを楽しんでもらうこともできると思います。取り組みが広がって継続するよう応援したい」と話していました。
Also, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry disclosed his idea of going curｌing using his "Premium Friday." He told the audience "How to spend the time is totally up to you!" Mr. Shingo Murakami from "Kan-Johnny 8" said, "I think we can offer concerts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for bigger audience from now on and we would like to be a help in this as much as possible."

協議会によりますと「プレミアムフライデー」のロゴマークの使用を申請した企業や団体の数は、２０日までにおよそ３０００件ということで、どの程度早めの退社が広がり、消費の喚起につながるかが注目されそうです。
Over 3,000 companies have already applied for the use of "Premium Friday" logos as of Feb 20th, and it gives us bigger expectations of how this will help out our economy.

国交相「旅行需要の拡大に期待」
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Views This as a Greater Opportunity for Traveling

観光業を所管する石井国土交通大臣は閣議のあとの会見で、「空いた時間の活用法に国内旅行や近隣への海外旅行が１つの選択肢になり、旅行需要の拡大につながることを期待している。国土交通省も業務に支障のない範囲で取り組みに参加するよう職員への周知をはかっているほか、当日の午後３時以降は会議などをできるだけ控えることにし、庁内放送で職員に早期の退庁を呼びかけることにしている」と述べました。
Mr. Keiichi Ishii, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism answered in an interview after a cabinet meeting, "Utilizing this time for traveling in Japan or the countries nearby is going to be an absolutely wonderful chance to grow the tourism industry. We will make a greater effort for the workers to seize this opportunity without jeopardizing their daily work and have already told them to try to avoid having any meetings after 3pm of the Fridays in question."
